We are seeking a Japanese representative for the "Global Pitch Showdown 2026 (October 6th)," an international pitch competition featuring outstanding medical and healthcare startups from Japan and abroad.

The Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with MedTech Actuator (MTA), a support organization specializing in medtech, is now accepting applications for the "Global Pitch Showdown," a program that combines support menus for overseas expansion and an international pitch contest for medical and healthcare startups aiming for the global market!
The program for Japanese startups will provide lectures and guidance to those who pass the initial document screening, focusing on how to develop business strategies with a global perspective and how to translate those strategies into pitch materials. Following this, a Japanese preliminary round will be held to select three Japanese companies to advance to the global finals. The global finals of the international pitch contest, held on October 6th in Osaka, the host city of the 2025 World Expo, will bring together top startups from around the world. Participants will present their company's initiatives to investors, large corporations, and medical professionals.
This is an excellent opportunity to compete with startups from around the world, connect with investors and the market, and boost your company's growth and international expansion. We sincerely look forward to receiving many applications.

[Global Pitch Showdown Schedule for Japanese Startups] (All dates are tentative)
- Entry deadline: July 31, 2026 (Friday)
*An information session will be held on July 21st (Tuesday) (separate registration required from the entry form).
- Notification of results for the first stage of document screening: Mid-August 2026 (tentative)
*Approximately 10 companies will be selected through document screening.
- Workshop: Late August 2026 (tentative)... Online. Includes support for developing strategies for overseas expansion and creating pitch decks.*
-Lecture and Pitch Coaching September 3, 2026 (Thursday) 10:00-16:00 (tentative) ... Osaka City A lecture on global strategy will be given by Buzz Palmer, co-founder/CEO of MTA (tentative)
- Japan Qualifier (2nd Round): Thursday, September 3, 2026, 17:00-20:00 (tentative)... Osaka City. The top 3 companies* will advance to the World Finals. At the same time, the companies from other countries that will advance to the World Finals will also be decided.
- Mentoring session for those who passed the Japanese preliminary round (planned) Around September 2026... Online

- Practice and refine your English pitch in preparation for the actual competition. - Grand Prize: 5 million yen. - (For world finalists only) Transportation and accommodation expenses to the Osaka venue will be provided. - (For world finalists only) Opportunity to pitch in front of domestic and international investors, government officials, major corporations, and representatives from overseas embassies in Japan. - In addition, top Japanese companies that pass the document screening will have priority access to the "Global Navigator" program (link: https://www.osaka.cci.or.jp/event/seminar/202606/D23260610017.html ), a partner building program with the medical ecosystem in Melbourne, Australia, and "Global Navigator Japan" (scheduled to be held concurrently with the world finals, October 5-8, 2026), a program in which startups from around the world will visit medical facilities, universities, research institutions, and major corporations in Japan. The target stage is not strict; however, if your company has a certain level of prototype or service established, is incorporated or planning to start a business, and aims for international expansion, please apply.
