This is the third installment in the overseas expansion support lecture series presented by MEDIC by UTokyoBD.

Overview

This seminar will share Google for Health's vision for the use of AI and cloud technologies in the medical and life sciences fields.

This session will provide an opportunity to deepen our understanding of how Google Cloud, generative AI, and AI models for healthcare can be used in research, business activities, and startups, using these as examples.

~Main lecture content~

• An overview of Google's healthcare ecosystem and its vision for the future of healthcare. • Details of generative AI solutions such as Gemini and MedGemma, and practical use cases. • Specific application methods in the development and validation phases using "MedGemma". • How companies considering overseas expansion can utilize Google's platform (using the generative AI "Gemini" to reduce the burden of document creation and back-office tasks with regulatory and pharmaceutical compliance in mind).

Speakers:

[Yurika Osuji] Clinical Specialist, Google for Health

Clinical Specialist at Google for Health. Board-certified dermatologist and Doctor of Medicine. Graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine in 2018. Since 2025, in his current position, he has been promoting the development of AI technologies, including Gemini, and their application in the medical field. He is also engaged in research on the medical performance evaluation of large-scale language models (LLMs) and building partnerships with domestic companies for data utilization and AI implementation.

Ferenc Kazinczi, APAC Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Japan/APAC Region Healthcare Regulatory Strategy Officer. A specialist in SaMD and medical AI with over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry. From R&D to Senior Lead Auditor at a Third-Party Certification Body (NB), he currently oversees market access strategies for the safe introduction of cutting-edge technologies such as Gemini into healthcare systems. He also serves on the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) AI Task Force. His background includes computer science, biomedical engineering, and CDSS research.
