[March 16th] Medical Device Development Forum "Aiming for the Development of Internationally Competitive Medical Devices" ~ AMED "Global Expansion Project for Medical-Engineering Collaboration, Global Expansion Hub Project" Activity Report Meeting ~

The Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry is promoting the "establishment of a global ecosystem for medical device development through the establishment of a Kansai-based global expansion base" through the "Global Expansion Project for Medical-Engineering Collaboration" of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).

As part of this initiative, we will be holding a Medical Device Development Forum, "Aiming for Internationally Competitive Medical Device Development," with the aim of providing information that will be useful for new medical device development and overseas expansion. This forum will introduce development support activities at AMED's medical device development centers and related businesses, as well as development case studies with a view to overseas expansion.

At this forum, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will give a presentation on Japan's medical device development strategy, and the program supervisor will speak on the importance of hub functions in medical device development. Following this, three hubs supporting medical device development will introduce their initiatives, and three companies working on medical device development with an eye on overseas expansion will present case studies.
Furthermore, we are planning a panel discussion with MedTech Actuator, a global startup support organization based in Australia that focuses on the medical and healthcare sectors.

We encourage anyone interested in the development and overseas expansion of medical devices to participate.
