[Application Deadline: August 5th (Wed)] JHVS Venture Awards 2026 Open Call

Japan is one of the few countries in the world that creates new drugs, and it possesses high potential for innovation, including excellent basic research in academia and manufacturing technologies held by small and medium-sized enterprises. However, it has been pointed out that this potential is not being fully utilized. In particular, ventures (medical ventures) aiming to commercialize pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and regenerative medicine products are required to fully demonstrate their capabilities and lead medical innovation in Japan, just as in Europe and the United States.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare aims to promote the practical application of promising research findings and establish a virtuous cycle (ecosystem) that fosters medical ventures.
We are pleased to announce the holding of the "JHVS Venture Awards 2026" with the aim of boosting the challenging spirit of medical ventures and promoting the creation of innovative solutions!
We encourage applications from venture companies and other organizations aiming to commercialize pharmaceuticals, medical devices, regenerative medicine products, and other related products!

■Date and Time: Thursday, October 8, 2026
■ Deadline: August 5, 2026 (Wednesday) 17:00
■Venue: Pacifico Yokohama (within the Japan Healthcare Venture Summit 2026 stage event)
■Eligibility requirements:
- The company must be a venture company aiming to commercialize pharmaceuticals, medical devices, regenerative medicine products, etc., or a platform venture company for drug discovery technologies, etc.
*As a general rule, this applies to companies that have been in business for less than 15 years and that meet the criteria for a small or medium-sized enterprise as defined in Article 2 of the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Basic Act (Act No. 154 of July 20, 1963).
• The submitted seed/product must be unmarketed. (Any stage is acceptable, from seed/early to middle/later.)
*This does not apply to platform ventures.
- Applicants must be able to give their presentation and answer questions in English during the final presentation judging (to be held on October 8, 2026).
